Programs for this age group are characterized by a strong and attentive adult presence. The timetable is completely controlled and accommodation is always with responsible adults around. The teaching methods as well as the activity programs combine learning and playing much more than in programs for older children.

Programs for this age group acknowledge a rising need for autonomy by the students. So adults are present, and the timetable closely monitored, but there are free spaces, and room for choosing. Accommodation is most often proposed in adult controlled environments. Activities are more sport and culture driven than for a younger public.

Programs for this age group usually leave quite some freedom and autonomy to the youngsters within the agreed framework. Accommodation is often in more open spaces, like residence or shared apartments, which call upon the student’s autonomy and sense of organization and collective responsibility. Activity programs are deliberately skewed towards more intense sports, cultural events and lots of social activities.
